Ed Bertaud, Former Texas Chairman, Recognized as Produce Industry Leader
Ed Bertaud, former Texas International Produce Association Chairman, was honored at a recent reception recognizing 40 of the brightest minds in produce under the age of 40. The event was held on Saturday, October 19 at the New Orleans Convention Center during PMA’s annual Fresh Summit event, according to a press release.
As the Director of Business Development for IFCO’s Pallet Management Services Division, Ed has been instrumental in the evolution of the Texas association as a leader working on international trade issues. “Ed was a tremendous Chairman and I was fortunate to be able to work so closely with him for the last year and a half,” said Bret Erickson, President and CEO of the TIPA. In addition to serving as a director at the association for nearly 10 years, as well as current Executive Committee Chairman, Ed also serves on a number of other committees and boards such as United Fresh Logistics and Supply Chain Council and the Houston Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association.
Trent Bishop, former TIPA Chairman and Vice President of Sales for Lone Star Citrus Growers, said, “Ed was incredibly engaged and provided thoughtful direction as we went through the process of creating the Border Issues Management Program and changing the association’s name to better align our image with the focus on the issues we were working to solve for our membership.”
Besides work, Ed is incredibly dedicated to his family. “Ed is always talking about what his kids are up to and spending time with them either at home or at one of their many activities when he’s got some down time,” said Erickson.
“It’s great that Ed’s such a high energy positive guy,” continued Erickson. “I’m impressed with his ability to stay engaged and committed to every single activity he’s involved in, he gives it all 100%.”
Congratulations on this great recognition, Ed!
