
Gourmet Trading Partners with the Wizard of Oz for its 75th Anniversary by Sarah Hoxie
Gourmet Trading Company is teaming up with Warner Bros. to promote a campaign between its Peruvian and Mexican Asparagus and the 75th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz™.
From September 23 through February 28, Gourmet Trading Company asparagus will help sponsor the October 1st release of The Wizard of Oz 75th Anniversary Edition on 3D Blu-Ray™, Blu-Ray™, DVD, and UltraViolet™, according to a press release. Copies of the DVD will also be given away via Gourmet Trading Company’s Facebook page, with a grand prize of a Flat Screen TV, Blu-Ray player, and a copy of The Wizard of Oz 75th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray.

The popularity of this movie over the past 75 years and the overall The Wizard of Oz™ brand recognition made it the perfect cross promotional opportunity for us. We look forward to engaging with our customers via social media to really promote not only the movie but our asparagus,” said Julia Inestroza, Marketing Director.
In celebration of this 75th anniversary, The Wizard of Oz 3D will be presented in IMAX® 3D format for one week across North America, beginning September 20. Following the IMAX® theatrical release, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release a limited and numbered The Wizard of Oz 75th Anniversary Collector’s Edition on October 1. This exclusive item will consist of a five-disc set including Blu-ray™, Blu-ray 3D™, DVD, and UltraViolet™ versions of the film, a new documentary – The Making of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz – and various bonus features and premium collectibles. Three other editions will be available separately: two-disc and single-disc Blu-ray editions or a two-disc DVD. All four editions will contain the new documentary and extra content.
