Kern Ridge, a year-round shipper of California-grown carrots is offering retailers and consumers an all-natural, organic variety of the company’s carrots. Kern Ridge’s fresh packs of Organic Carrots come ready-to-eat and are packed under the All Natural label and certified by California Certified Organic Farmers.

Kern Ridge isn’t just fulfilling a niche for more organic carrots in the market. As juicing continues to grow in popularity, the company is encouraging consumers to use these organic carrots for healthy juicing opportunities. Juicing and organic have been two big buzz words lately, and I'm seeing a lot more retail display ads highlighting organic produce right at the front of the store. It's no surprise to see growers like Kern Ridge taking advantage of these two big trends in produce.

“Organic seems to be gaining traction with the public, especially in regards to juicing,” Chris Smotherman (above), Sales, tells AndNowUKnow. “Offering an organic version of a conventional product is going to allow the store to appeal to a larger customer base.”

The Organic Carrots, which were recently on display at the Fresh Produce & Floral Council convention in Pleasanton, California, are now available in the following packs and sizes: 48/1#, 24/2#, and 10/5# for cellos; 25# and 50# for table size, jumbo size, and juice carrots; and 24/1#, 12/2#, and 4/5# for baby peeled.

Carrots are one of my favorite veggies to snack on, so it’s great seeing more organic varieties of this classic produce item appear in the market. Seeing as how consumers are starting to gravitate toward juicing too, it looks like Kern Ridge’s organic carrots will be a big hit in supermarkets.
