Kroger to Add 600 New Workers to its Cincinnati/Dayton Division



CINCINNATI, OH - More growth and more hiring are on the menu for Kroger. The Cincinnati-based retailer is hiring for 600 new store positions, with plans to promote other staff members into management positions. The hiring will take place in the growing Dayton and Cincinnati markets, in a move that will increase the company’s capacities there. 

The planned hiring event took place on Saturday, December 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at all of its stores in the Cincinnati/Dayton Division, according to a press release. One of the largest employers in the Dayton region, Kroger has more than 4,300 employees in the area.

The positions Kroger will be hiring for span several different departments, from cashiers to cooks, including: 

  • Produce
  • Meat/seafood
  • Deli/bakery
  • Floral
  • Apparel
  • Drug/GM 
  • Nutrition
  • Starbucks positions

Kroger’s positions offer benefits, flexible hours, regular pay increases, as well as opportunities for advancement.

This isn’t the only hiring event the company has put on in recent days. Kroger’s ‘Honoring our Heroes’ hiring event on November 9 resulted in the appointments of more than 4,000 military veterans and their family members. Kroger said it has hired more than 35,000 veterans since 2009 and donated more than $18 million since 2010 to help support USO programs.

In total, Kroger has 431,000 employees in 2,796 retail stores under a variety of banner names across 35 states and the District of Columbia.
