NEW YORK - Could a new Lidl store be making its way to yet another United States market? It sure is! The international supermarket chain is bolstering its New York presence with a new store in Yonkers.

The grocer has proposed a new store location in the Central Plaza Shopping Center at 2550 Central Park Ave. According to The Yonkers Ledger, the company aims to create a 29,208-square-foot supermarket by combining smaller stores within the shopping center. The expansion is expected to bring increased grocery shopping opportunities, as well as more employment opportunities, to the region.

The Germany-based discount grocer currently operates stores in 32 countries, employing over 341,000 people. With its U.S. operations headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, the company continues to seek out Stateside growth.
