MONTEREY, CA - The excitement across the industry for the return of in-person events has yet to fade as the Organic Produce Summit (OPS) 2021 approaches. To further stoke the fires of anticipation, the second of four total education sessions for the event has been announced: “Opportunities and Obstacles for Organic Produce Post-Covid.” Robby Cruz, Director of Produce for Sprouts Farmers Market; Randy Riley, Co-Owner of GoldenSun Insights; Heather Fuller, Vice President of Sales for Braga Fresh; and Ricardo Crisantes, Chief Commercial Officer for Wholesum, have been named as the panelists for this session.

Randy Riley, Co-Owner, GoldenSun Insights“Following a year unlike any other, many facets of the fresh produce industry have changed—possibly forever. As our industry moves forward, this educational session will offer a look at how organic producers and the retail community are adapting to these changes and offer a glimpse into what the future may look like,” said Riley.

The education session will spotlight the shifting retail and production landscapes following the pandemic, according to a press release. The discussion will also explore what the “new normal” will look like and how business has changed in several key aspects.

In addition to Randy Riley, Robby Cruz, Director of Produce for Sprouts Farmers Market; Heather Fuller, Vice President of Sales for Braga Fresh; and Ricardo Crisantes, Chief Commercial Officer for Wholesum, have been named as the panelists for this session

In addition to this session, three other educational sessions and a set of Keynote presentations will take place at OPS 2021, with the first session already being announced. Two of the discussions will spotlight the growth of CEA and indoor growing’s impact on organic fresh produce, and the other will discuss the rise of e-commerce.
