Southern Specialties Gears Up for Bountiful B.C. Blueberry Season
Southern Specialties is gearing up for a abundant B.C. blueberry season. The company has been shipping blueberries from B.C. for more than ten years. Southern Specialties is a year round shipper of blueberries from most growing regions, according to a press release. The blueberries are available in the company’s Southern Selects label in both full pint and 18-ounce clamshells and are ideal for retail, club stores and foodservice distributors.
“ I have just returned from the fields,” said Martin Maldonado, Southern Specialties’ Category Manager for Berries “ The crop promises to be excellent with great color, bloom and flavor.” Varieties include Duke, Elliott, and others.
The British Columbia deal winds up North American production before moving to South America. Southern Specialties will ship from Abbotsford, British Columbia and Pompano Beach, Florida.
