Starr Ranch Growers Partners with emoji® to Promote Apples, Cherries, and Pears
GERMANY - Emojis are arguably one of the most well-known concepts amongst today’s society. From texting, to social media, and even to verbal communication, emojis are simply everywhere. Starr Ranch Growers’ latest partnership capitalizes on this worldwide phenomena, recently becoming one of the first United States produce companies to partner with the emoji® company on its licensed apples, pears, and cherries.
“The powerful and expressive emoji brand icons are known by everyone,” said Brett Reasor, CEO of Starr Ranch. “It encourages real-time engagement and adds a personal element to our marketing strategy. We are thrilled to use the official emoji brand icons on packaging to speak to younger demographics and foster two-way communication.”
According to a press release, a deal brokered by the emoji company and its North American licensing agent, Retail Monster, will begin this summer, launching emoji® brand icons on Starr Ranch’s packages of its top selling varieties such as Gala, Honeycrisp, and Fuji in an “apple snaq” pouch bag.
“We are happy to support Starr Ranch as it works to make healthy eating fun. This is a great partnership that will reach shoppers across the United States,” Marco Hüsges, CEO and Founder of the emoji company, said.
Krista Beckstead, Marketing and Brand Specialist, said in addition to humanizing the brand, emoji brand icons can boost engagement for social media marketers. For example, Facebook posts that use icons receive 57 percent more likes and 33 percent more comments and shares than those without them, and tweets with icons have a 25 percent higher engagement rate, Beckstead said.
Soon enough, the heart eyes emoji will be synonymous with some of the industry’s best fresh produce. As more innovative partnerships come to fruition, follow along with us here at ANUK.
