KEASBEY, NJ - A slew of recent promotions is headlining the latest announcement from Wakefern Food Corp., as the retail cooperative is strengthening its executive ring with multiple leadership appointments. Following the retirement of Senior Vice President, Brett Wing, the grocer has unveiled several other changes to its team of execs.
Former Senior Vice President of Price Rite Marketplace Kevin McDonnell has been named President of the banner and will oversee all aspects from sales to advertising programs, retail store operations, facilities management, and real estate, a press release explained.
He will continue to lead Price Rite Marketplace, which has more than 60 stores across Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
Ryan Maloney will be taking on the role of Vice President, Retail Services and Member Initiatives, leading all initiatives to support the membership and store operations. This includes new member integration as well as all aspects of merchandising.
Danny Perriello will be filling in Maloney’s former position, stepping in as Director, Retail Operations. In this position, Perriello will oversee CGO, Retail Labor Management, and the Retail Operations Shared Services program.
Also taking on a new role is Dan Tarnopol.
Tarnopol has been promoted to Vice President, Site Development, Real Estate, and Member Services. In this VP position, Tarnopol will continue to focus on driving growth and business transformation for the cooperative. Tarnopol will now report to Michael Day.
Day was recently named Group Vice President of Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Member Service. He will now oversee Strategic Initiatives, Retail Operations, Site Development, and Real Estate. Day has played an instrumental part in identifying new cooperative members as well as supporting the membership through business and financial planning services.
These changes come as Wing is capping off a successful 45-year career in the industry and retiring from his role as Senior Vice President of Retail Excellence.
Joseph Sheridan, President and Chief Operating Officer commented on the recent leadership changes.
“It is with mixed emotions that I share the news of a valued leader who is retiring, while also announcing the exciting advancement of five Wakefern executives committed to the continued growth and excellence of our cooperative,” he stated.
The team at ANUK extends our congratulations to all of these talented industry leaders as they embark on the next phase of their tenured careers!
