Bako Sweet® Boosts Sweet Potato Category Through Strategic Marketing Efforts; Alexandra Rae Molumby and Kristen Carli Discuss

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Can you believe tomorrow is February 1? Country Sweet Produce’s Bako Sweet® brand can, seeing as it has been counting down the days to National Sweet Potato Month, which also happens to be American Heart Month and includes Valentine’s Day and Cook a Sweet Potato Day. In honor of all of these celebrations, the brand has announced several marketing efforts to drive sales of its high-quality sweet potato products.

Alexandra Rae Molumby, Director of Marketing, Bako Sweet®“Sweet potatoes are a nutrient-dense option, and we wanted to communicate that on our packaging by proudly showcasing the American Heart Association Heart-Check,” said Alexandra Rae Molumby, Director of Marketing for Bako Sweet. “We encourage retailers to take advantage of Bako Sweet’s eye-catching packaging and show the sweet potato love by prominently displaying them as part of a month-long celebration of sweet potatoes.”

Seeing as packaging is one of the most effective ways that the grower and shipper is interacting with shoppers in February, Bako Sweet has unveiled its newest 3 lb and 5 lb organic and conventional bags. As detailed in a release, the bags are not only eye-catching, but also communicate the health benefits of sweet potatoes as a heart-healthy food with the American Heart Association Heart-Check displayed on the front.

Consumers will have the opportunity to celebrate National Sweet Potato Month on Instagram as well, thanks to Bako Sweet’s Grown With Love campaign, where they can win heart-themed prizes from February 1–28.
