Bonipak Produce's Derek Eager Discusses Seed to Sale at PMA Foodservice 2019



MONTEREY, CA - PMA Foodservice might be in the rearview mirror, but it’s always at the forefront of my heart. It’s not every day you get to attend a show in which so many new and exciting things are happening in the world of food, especially when those innovations may soon land on a restaurant menu!

While strolling the aisles, I had a chance to catch up with the world of Bonipak Produce, and its Marketing Coordinator, Derek Eager, was more than happy to clue me in.

Derek Eager, Marketing Coordinator, Bonipak Produce“We stick to our main items, and we grow the products, so we like to show off the transplants and how we control the process from seed to sale,” Derek shared with us.

Showcasing its foodservice items such as broccoli, broccoli florets, lettuce, Romaine hearts, and cauliflower, Derek explained to me the importance of keeping up a steady supply to Bonipak’s customers.

Bonipak Produce ensures that its customers get the highest-quality produce by controlling the growing and packing process from seed to sale

“As a grower, we take care of our customers. Surety of supply is a big deal. [By] controlling the products, making sure we always have it—we haul it, we cool it, we process it ourselves in our own processing facility—we take care of that supply issue from the seed all the way to our customer,” he concluded.
