California Giant Berry Farms to Support Hunger Relief in Private Screening
California Giant Berry Farms is inviting guests to a local screening of Sony Motion Pictures’ Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 to support those in need.
As a local business committed to supporting healthy lifestyles and giving back, California Giant has embraced the opportunity to be a partner with Sony Motion Pictures and national and local nonprofit organizations to bring fresh produce to life on the big screen and promote support for hunger relief and families and children in need, according to a press release.
Together with local nonprofits Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County, Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services and Grind Out Hunger, California Giant is hosting a private screening of the movie complete with ribbon cutting ceremony, fun activities for kids, and giveaways of fresh produce movie snacks. In addition, a produce truck from Watsonville Coast Produce will be on hand to make a donation of hundreds of pounds of fresh produce to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County.
Attendees will include families from Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services, in recognition of Children’s Cancer Awareness Month, and winners of a contest held by Grind Out Hunger, a Santa Cruz nonprofit dedicated to kids helping kids in the fight against childhood hunger.
