Dole Food Company Releases Vegan Holiday Recipes; Melanie Marcus Comments
CHARLOTTE, NC - For consumers that live a vegan, vegetarian, or health-conscious lifestyle, the holidays and the indulgent meals that come with them can be roadblocks. Looking to help shoppers clear these hurdles and retailers expand their holiday merchandising horizons, Dole Food Company has released vegan versions of classic side dishes as its final “Healthier by Dole” alternative recipe series.
“There is no better way to cap our year-long ‘Healthier by Dole’ series than with a set of healthy-but-indulgent holiday recipes that ensure that everyone will feel welcome at this year’s holiday table,” said Melanie Marcus, RD, MA, and Dole’s Nutrition and Health Communications Manager. “From Dole’s Vegan Green Bean-Veggie Casserole to Arendelle Royal Holiday Stuffing to our Potato Tamales, we’re here to show that our vegan alternatives are just as delicious and satisfying as your childhood favorites. Now with a little advance planning, your guests don’t have to feel guilty for enjoying themselves this holiday season.”
This holiday season, Dole is challenging meat lovers to replace their traditional sides with flavorful, healthier alternatives that are not only vegan, but low-calorie and full of fruits and vegetables as well.
According to a release, the final “Healthier by Dole” installment includes 10 holiday-inspired appetizers, side dishes, desserts, and drink recipes that show combining lean animal proteins with vegan sides can be delicious, satisfying, and respectful to the dietary needs of all holiday guests, including those that are gluten-free.
