Fresh Produce Association of the Americas Announces Southern Arizona Sustainability Expo

NOGALES, AZ - Always finding new ways to add value to the Nogales produce industry, the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA) has introduced its first ever Southern Arizona Sustainability Expo. The Thursday, May 18 event at the Santa Cruz Center in Nogales, will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 p.m., featuring speaker panels on such topics as solar, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable packaging.

Lance Jungmeyer, President, FPAA“It has been amazing to see the community come together to plan this event, which is the first of its kind in Southern Arizona,” said Association President Lance Jungmeyer. “Individuals and companies are eager to learn how they can help both the environment and their bottom line. We routinely see that making the sustainable choice often is also less costly in the long run, and this conference will give the community lots of ideas to bring back to their businesses.”

Hannah La Luzerne, Sustainability Manager, Wholesum Family FarmsWholesum Family Farms, a member of the FPAA, has been integral in helping coordinate the event, according to a press release. “Companies today are faced with the financial pressure to lower operating costs and the social pressure to be more environmentally friendly,” Hannah La Luzerne of Wholesum Family Farms explained. “The Southern Arizona Sustainability Expo will connect businesses and property managers with the products and services for implementing sustainability practices that help solve both of these challenges.”
