The Giorgi Companies' Mark Currie Talks New Chief Executive Officer Role and Company Goals in Shop Talk Interview



BLANDON, PA - Mark Currie joined The Giorgi Companies in April of this year as the Chief Executive Officer of the company's Food Division. With over 20 years of experience in the food industry, we were curious to hear more from the new CEO up close in person.

"The commitment to innovation is what drew me to the company," he told us. "The opportunity to build on the legacy...It's a 96-year-old company, and Peter Giorgio really wants to set it up for the next generation and continue to grow."

With innovation still top of mind for the company moving forward, Mark's role will be critical in driving the success of the businesses under his division, which include Giorgi Mushroom, Giorgio Fresh, and Giorgio Foods.

So, what can partners expect moving forward?

"You'll see more value-added items from us. You'll see our commitment to regenerative agriculture grow and develop," Mark noted. "We're really going to focus on being very, very efficient."

Over the next two years, Mark remarked that Giorgio will be innovating in multiple forms of business, such as how it goes to market and differentiating its product and packaging offerings.

"We're very large and dependable. We have a really solid production system, and pride ourselves on excellent customer service. We will always be there for a retailer and we'll make sure we take care of them," he concluded.
