SANTA MARIA, CA - Cauliflower continues to be a staple during the holidays. I make no apologies for the fact that I can’t imagine a holiday meal without a cauliflower gratin. Gold Coast Packing is making it even easier for its industry partners to fulfill the needs of consumers like me. As I took to the figurative road to find out how, I spoke with Crystal Chavez, Marketing Coordinator.

“Cauliflower is always popular during the fall and winter holidays, and we will have enough of the cruciferous veg to meet the demand,” she shared with me. “We are working on keeping cauliflower sales strong by releasing new items and always innovating with what flavors are trending. We recently added to our retail line by adding our Garden Blend, which is a mix of cauliflower and broccoli florets plus baby carrots. Two new items will be added to our retail line by the end of 2020, so stay tuned for those.”

In order to support these new product lines, Gold Coast has seen excellent quality in its current cauliflower crop.

“We have good supply and volume, with the superior quality that our customers have come to expect from our Santa Maria grown products,” Crystal explained. “Right now, we are seeing a steady market with cauliflower, and we have the volume needed to meet the requests and needs of our customers.”

With year-round availability, Gold Coast Packing’s cruciferous veg continues to be a staple item of the Santa Maria-based operation.
