International Fresh Produce Association Invites Chef José Andrés to the Global Produce & Floral Show; Cathy Burns, Bruce Taylor, and Laura Himes Share



WASHINGTON, DC & NEWARK, DE - As the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) prepares to gather industry members to discuss worldwide trends, challenges, and more at the first-ever Global Produce & Floral Show, the association has announced Chef José Andrés will be taking the stage. World renowned for his contributions as not only a chef and restaurateur but also a humanitarian, Andrés will highlight the potential impact that food has in health challenges worldwide.

Cathy Burns, Chief Executive Officer, International Fresh Produce Association“When we formed IFPA, we set as our vision the intent to create a vibrant future for all,” said IFPA Chief Executive Officer Cathy Burns. “Who better than Chef Andrés to join our global produce and floral community and inspire us with his insights and perspectives on how our industry’s products can transform the trajectory of many of the world’s biggest health challenges from nutritional insecurity to chronic, diet-related diseases.”

Chef Andrés is recognized in the culinary sector as a James Beard Award-winner with two Michelin stars, but on the world stage is also seen as a humanitarian after establishing World Central Kitchen in 2010, a release explained.

To elaborate on the importance of food when it comes to overing challenges, Andrés will host “Changing the World Through the Power of Food – A Conversation with José Andrés” at the Global Produce & Floral Show in Orlando, Florida, from October 27–29.

It’s time for us to explore how we can transform the world through our work with produce and floral. I don’t think there has ever been such an exciting speaker as José Andrés, who is truly changing the world with food.”

Recently, the chef has been on the ground in Ukraine where World Central Kitchen has organized local partners and volunteers to serve over 6 million meals across the region.
