Mushroom Council® Launches First-Ever “Mix It Up With Mushrooms” Contest in Collaboration With Allrecipes; Anne-Marie Roerink Details



LEE'S SUMMIT, MO - How do you get shoppers excited about fresh produce? Sometimes it’s something as simple as a contest. The Mushroom Council® is kicking off its first-ever “Mix It Up With Mushrooms” contest in collaboration with Allrecipes. This multimedia campaign hopes to encourage shoppers to buy mushrooms to create either plant-based recipes or add some more nutrition to their meat-based entrees.

The contest itself will feature five original main-dish recipes created by Allrecipes Allstars home cooks, all of whom are looking to be crowned by the voting public as top dog.

According to a press release, each recipe created for the contest will spotlight The Blend, the umami-rich combo of finely chopped mushrooms and ground meat. The collaboration with Allrecipes is part of the association’s long-standing tradition to devote spring and summer months to promoting The Blend with a major organization or media outlet.

The press release noted that the reach of this contest is made possible due to partnerships like this. For example, past partners have included the James Beard Foundation, Bon Appetit magazine and Food Network.
