Naturipe's Jason Bellan Discusses New Frozen Fresh Branded Product Line
ORLANDO, FL - As I came to find out at this year’s International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) Global Produce & Floral Show, it’s freezing over at Naturipe, but I’m not talking about the weather. As Jason Bellan, Vice President and General Manager of Naturipe Foods, told me, the supplier has debuted a new branded frozen fresh product line that will give retailers and shoppers something to be excited about.
“We’ve been doing frozen for over 15 years, but we had a new partnership that came to us in South America between two companies, Hortifruit and Alifruit, and what that did is it gave us a lot more access to both IQF and poly bag capability as well as a wider variety of fruit,” Jason explained.
Throughout the past 15 years, as Jason said, Naturipe has mostly been producing a frozen offering of its fresh blueberries. With retailers looking for efficiencies in supply, and wanting to buy multiple products from a supplier, this new partnership will benefit them as it will give them a full line of frozen fresh offerings to choose from with the control of a single source.
All the products are created using IQF. The items are grown in the fields, put in bags, frozen, and shipped by Naturipe and its partners, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency.
“…we’re excited. We’ve got such good brand equity on the fresh side, and this is bringing this brand equity to life on the frozen side,” added Jason. “Our retailers are going to enjoy it; we know our consumers love the brand and trust the product that’s in there, so we’re excited to bring that to them in the frozen space.”
