United Supermarkets Refuses to Sell Rolling Stone Issue
United Supermarkets is refusing to sell the controversial August issue of Rolling Stone magazine featuring Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover.
“This was an easy business decision for us,” said Robert Taylor, CEO of United Supermarkets, LLC. “To do anything that would glorify terrorist behavior simply goes against what our company stands for.”
United joins retailers across the nation in choosing not to sell the issues scheduled to be released on Friday, July 19.
Rolling Stone is only available at a limited number of United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos and United Express locations.
