Westfalia Fruit Takes to International Fresh Produce Association’s Foodservice Conference; Raina Nelson Details
OXNARD, CA - Did somebody say foodservice? The booming sector is the talk of the town as the International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) Foodservice Conference is underway. With a focus on introducing its global avocado brand in the United States, Westfalia Fruit’s President and Chief Executive Officer Raina Nelson let me know there is lots to highlight at this exciting industry gathering.
“One exciting development our team will be highlighting is our newly expanded avocado ripening technology and capabilities, which we have designed based on our state-of-the-art operations across the globe,” shares Raina. “The technology allows us to provide precision and custom-ripened fruit for our foodservice customers. This addition, coupled with our vertically integrated supply chain, truly sets us apart in consistently providing the freshest, highest quality fruit delivered with exceptional customer service, which is the Westfalia Difference.”
A sentiment echoed by many members across our industry, Raina notes that one of the biggest benefits of this trade show is the ability to connect in-person with customers and industry comrades to collectively drive the consumption of fresh produce in the foodservice sector.
“The IFPA Foodservice Conference provides a wonderful platform to meet, network, share, and learn with industry leaders across the supply chain. This conference is a superbly attended event, and Westfalia is proud to be a founding member of the IFPA. We see it as the perfect opportunity to share our exciting and innovative avocado initiatives,” Raina adds. “We also look forward to celebrating the Produce Excellence in Foodservice Award recipients who wave the banner of fresh produce in foodservice every day. I know the team is looking forward to learning at the educational session, experiencing the passion of Chef Robert Irvine, and contributing to the energy of the expo floor!”
Westfalia Fruit will be taking to the event to share its story, highlight its service portfolio, and inspire new ideas in the sector. The supplier prides itself on working closely with its foodservice partners to meet their custom ripe specifications. With a diversified sourcing program, the company maintains at least three countries of origin to source quality fruit from at any given time.
“Westfalia’s global mission is to do good in all facets of our business. We have roots in South Africa and, while we are a 70-plus-year-old company, we have a passionate, fresh vision to share as we emerge in the United States marketplace. Get to know us and learn more about our rich heritage and bright future at our booth and talk to our team,” Raina advises. “You’ll definitely feel the energy and passion we have for bringing our purpose to life for our customers, both current and future!”
