Woody Johnson, General Manager, Green Giant Fresh joins AndNowUKnow to discuss the highlights of his career in the produce industry. Mr. Johnson says he has had the opportunity to work with big name companies including Dole, DiMare Fresh, Grimmway Farms, Del Monte, and Growers Express. Mr. Johnson says he believes the next big thing in the industry will be food safety. He says his opinion to those in the industry is “if you can’t innovate, you have to imitate and do it bigger, better and safer and cheaper than anybody else” and to embrace technology. Mr. Johnson says now in his free time, he will continue to be involved with growers groups, spend time on his blog and work on his own investment portfolio.
