MEXICO - Bringing together international leaders from the produce industry, agricultural producers, public officials, supply chain representatives, and more, the 14^th annual AMHPAC Convention recently took place. Formally opened by Víctor Manuel Villalobos Arambula, head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the event was attended by over 350 members of the industry.

"This has been possible thanks to the fact that Mexico has a strong and thriving protected agriculture sector and the efforts of producers and entrepreneurs like you, who belong to the horticultural value chain," said Secretary Villalobos Arambula as part of his speech, referring to the Agricultural Trade Balance and Agroindustrial surplus of 7.19 billion MD (360.8 million USD) despite the pandemic and drought in Mexico.

Also giving a speech was the President of AMHPAC, Guillermo Jimenez, who explained that there are clear challenges that must still be addressed in Mexico, such as the issue of labor. However, he assured attendees that strong activity from the association and other international organizations was helping to solve the issues, according to a release.

During the convention, a series of conferences were also held, bringing together world-class experts. There were also meetings with experts on the Suspension Agreement, and the 10^th Commercial Mission, in which meetings are held between producers and marketers to do business.
