Avocados From Mexico Launches Fanwich Campaign for 2016



DALLAS, TX – The long-awaited Fanwich campaign from Avocados From Mexico (AFM) is triumphantly returning to retailers from February through March 2016.

The campaign, which is designed to inspire consumers to incorporate avocados on their sandwiches, is built around a strategic partnership with Bimbo Bakeries USA®. The campaign will be featured in both the General and Hispanic markets with Healthfull® premium breads and Bimbo® Bread, respectively.

“This campaign is based on research that shows both bread and avocados are among the top items in the shopper basket and that sandwiches are the 4th key usage for avocados,” said Stephanie Bazan, AFM’s Market Development Director. “Partnering with Bimbo Bakeries USA® enables us to offer a robust program that is relevant in both the General and Hispanic markets.”

AFM plans to kick off a Fanwich Fit sweepstakes in the General Market, which gives consumers the opportunity to win one of several $500 gift cards or a home gym makeover, valued at $10,000. Whistle Sports social influencers, such as healthy food blogger Kevin Curry, Founder of FitMenCook, professional lacrosse player Paul Rabil, and health and fitness guru Natalie Jill, will leverage their huge social media followings to promote a series of AFM videos that encourages fans to post their own avocado sandwich creations, according to a press release.

The campaign will be integrated with content on the FitMenCook app.

In addition, AFM will be holding its 2nd annual national retail display contest in which retailers have a chance to win $50,000 in prizes. Using at least three pieces of AFM Fanwich POS, retailers can submit a photograph of their display creation and submit it to Fanwich.com/Retail by March 30, 2016. Winners will be chosen based on usage of required AFM Fanwich promotional pieces and overall display look.
