Calavo Growers Caps New Launches at 2022 IFPA Show; Nelia Alamo Discusses

SANTA PAULA, CA - As our industry prepares to gather in Orlando, Florida, at the end of the month, excitement is beginning to brim over as plans and strategies are realized. Among them, Calavo Growers has made 2022 a year of new looks and launches, with the International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA’s) Global Produce & Floral Show as the perfect crescendo.

Nelia Alamo, Vice President of Communications, Calavo Growers“For the inaugural IFPA Global show, we look forward to connecting with our industry partners, customers, and friends and celebrating the industry at this global event. Coming together to help drive value to our industry and showcase innovation that ultimately drives consumption to today’s consumers,” Nelia Alamo, Vice President of Communications, recently shared with me.

While there, Calavo will unveil the new exclusive licensing agreement to produce a line of refrigerated guacamole and salsa under the Old El Paso Brand. Attendees can get a sneak peak of the line in IFPA’s Fresh Ideas Showcase, both online and show site, before swinging by booth #2671 to see a unified, freshly unveiled brand approach from the expanding company.

“At this year’s IFPA Global show, Calavo is excited to spotlight our updated Calavo branding with a new logo and the Family of Fresh tagline, which was unveiled this past April,” Nelia said. “We will be showcasing the new branding throughout the booth and on retail packaging.”

Unifying as one company, Calavo brought together Renaissance Food Group and Calavo under the trusted Calavo name, sealing the deal with the updated look. In celebrating this, Calavo will also be highlighting a diverse product portfolio that includes everything from fresh avocados and tomatoes to prepared fruits, veggies, and guacamoles.

And, Nelia teases, some new innovation items.

“Calavo’s Chef Adrian Day-Murchison will be on site in our booth offering a variety of samples using several of our products during the two-day event, and we invite all to come try out some of these delicious fresh prepared items,” Nelia concluded.

Calavo’s versatile product offering supports the needs of both retailers and foodservice buyers. From grab-and-go items to trusted commodities, this unique portfolio and national footprint offer value-added solutions for a wide variety of needs and is certainly worth being included in your show floor plan.
