California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement Adopts Western Growers' GreenLink Data Sharing Platform; De Ann Davis Comments
IRVINE, CA - The California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement (LGMA) is keeping the ball rolling on food safety initiatives in September as it announced its members will adopt Western Growers’ (WG) proprietary GreenLink® data sharing platform to collect and analyze food safety data. This comes after both the California and Arizona LGMA introduced their new environmental risk assessment tool.
"The use of GreenLink by the California LGMA is a huge step forward as our industry continues to make sure we advance the best food safety practices, which are essential to providing consumers the safest produce possible," said Western Growers Senior Vice President of Science De Ann Davis. "The power of data is irrefutable, and we believe that food safety strategies dictated by science and prevention are the best way to maintain a secure food supply."
This adoption of GreenLink moves the leafy greens industry toward even greater cohesion, advancing collective learning by utilizing a standardized data collection approach, a release stated.
GreenLink was developed by the WG Science team in collaboration with WG member companies. It provides a digital, secure, and confidential online platform that enables users to share food safety data.
