Memorial Day in particular presents a prime opportunity for retailers to promote corn, as the holiday is one of this category’s highest sales drivers.

“It’s an item customers expect to go on promo this time of year,” John continued. “Shoppers are planning entire events around the vegetable as summer eating occasions heat up.”

For Memorial Day and beyond, retailers should be building eye-catching displays with corn featured prominently at the front and center. Plus, a little consumer education via cross-merchandised items and season updates never hurt anybody.

“Utilize end caps and promo materials to draw shoppers’ attention to the displays you build throughout the grocery store. Plus, it’s important to make sure shoppers know we are in peak season for Florida corn,” John added.
