Giumarra's Gary Caloroso Discusses Avocado Season
LOS ANGELES, CA - Avocados may offer us a bit of a wild ride in the way of promotable volumes, but on the demand side it seems that the way is consistently pointed up. Gary Caloroso, Regional Business Development Director for Giumarra Companies, updated me on the latest market details for this popular green fruit.
“Avocado quality is very good. There is promotable Mexican avocado volume now through the spring,” he shares, explaining this is a slight increase over last year’s season.
Gary says that California avocado volume will be less in the beginning of 2019, but that there will be a lot of demand for it.
“Avocado demand will increase toward the end of December as we approach New Year’s Eve and professional and college football playoffs,” he assures.
