Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet Debuts New Recyclable Packaging and New Label; Mayda Sotomayor, Gray Vinson, and Helena Fernandez Elaborate

With a sustainability roadmap in hand and an eye for innovation and execution driving progress forward, Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet is revealing a fresh new, sustainable label for its clementine line. “Seald Sweet was born as a Florida Citrus cooperative in 1909 and has been growing, packing, distributing, and selling fresh produce since then,” said Mayda Sotomayor, President and Chief Executive Officer, Seald Sweet. “Growing from citrus to importing a wide variety of products, we have continued to remain a leader in this evolving industry.”
And staying on the leading edge has been what keeps this company established and advancing. Bringing together such essential components has allowed Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet to support the new label’s clear and concise message.
“This new label features our brand and highlights our 110-years-plus of citrus heritage with an eye-catching design,” Gray Vinson, Commodity Manager, stated upon the launch of the program.
While Greenyard USA/Seald Sweet has internal goals fueling its market achievements, the company is also aligned with retailers’ sustainability goals, making it a win-win for both the supply- and buy-side.
“The most interesting thing about this new label will be that it is introduced on fully recyclable packaging. As part of our sustainable journey and as a global leader in the industry, we are committed to using 100 percent recyclable packing by 2025,” Helena Fernandez, Marketing Coordinator, expressed as she delved into the details behind the launch.
For the packaging itself, the new film and net are both made out of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). This type of plastic can be recycled through store drop-off bins, further aligning with retailer goals and responding to the consumer’s desire for solutions a bit closer to their retail brick-and-mortar homes.
Additionally, the new label can be found in stores from July through November in 3 lb and 2 lb packaging formats.
