Harris Teeter Names Mr. Mark S. Ordan to the Board of Directors

Harris Teeter has elected Mr. Mark S. Ordan to the Board of Directors to serve until the next Annual Meeting of Shareholders. The news came at the company's Annual Meeting of Shareholders where Harris Teeter's ten current directors were also reelected.
Mr. Ordan brings a wealth of experience to his new role having held senior executive positions at a number of companies in the real estate, food service and supermarket industries. Mr. Mark S. Ordan is the Chief Executive Officer of Sunrise Senior Living, Inc
In addition to the announcement of the new and reelected board members, shareholders approved the Harris Teeter Supermarkets, Inc. 2013 Cash Incentive Plan and an advisory “Say on Pay” vote approving the compensation of the Company’s named Executive officers, according to a press release.
Harris Teeter shareholders also ratified the appointment of KPMG LLP as the independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending October 1, 2013.
