Harvest Sensations® Partners with Best Buddies to Champion Workplace Inclusivity
MIAMI, FL - Since its inception in 1989, Best Buddies International has been dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of the people who live with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The global volunteer organization has grown from one original chapter to nearly 2,900 chapters worldwide, positively impacting the lives of over 1.25 million people with and without IDD. And that’s why Harvest Sensations®, a purpose-driven specialty produce company, has decided to partner up with Best Buddies to enhance the lives of its workers and people living with IDD.
“Best Buddies is an organization that I worked for many years ago and is very near and dear to my heart,” said Viviana Diaz, HR Director at Harvest Sensations who recently became the Director of First Impressions through the partnership.
According to a press release, Harvest Sensations will realize this mission through its Jobs Program. Individuals with IDD are partnered with employment consultants who support them through the job seeking process and throughout their employment. Harvest Sensations continues to fully support its distribution network with unsurpassed service and aims to shine a light on a major portion of the population, driving awareness and education for inclusive hiring practices.
Tom Travers, President of Harvest Sensations, stated that he looks forward to a long and successful partnership with Best Buddies to help drive awareness for workplace inclusivity.
Harvest Sensations is known as the first produce company to introduce the original Organic Kale Salad to retailers in the U.S. in 2009. Now, the name will also be synonymous with championing workplace awareness and inclusion as well. Check out its YouTube video above for more insight on the program.
