Lipman Family Farms Names Dr. Sam Hutton, Ph.D as Senior Breeder; Elyse Lipman and Mark Barineau Comment



IMMOKALEE, FL - Lipman Family Farms’ powerful Research and Development team has just been bolstered by even more industry expertise, as Dr. Sam Hutton, Ph.D. has joined the team as Senior Breeder.

Dr. Sam Hutton, Ph.D, Senior Breeder, Lipman Family FarmsBased in the company’s R&D facility in Florida, Hutton will optimize his expertise in the field of horticulture and breeding as a key contributor to the grower’s vertical integration and unmatched quality. According to a press release, Lipman Family Farms maintains a full in-house R&D team of scientists who work meticulously to create new varieties for their open-field product through years of dedicated trials.

Hutton holds a Ph.D. in Horticulture from the University of Florida, an M.S. in Plant Breeding from the University of Minnesota, and a B.S. in Agronomy from Mississippi State University.

He is also decorated by several key industry achievements. For example, in 2014, the distinguished industry expert received Vance Publishing’s Second Annual 40 Under 40 Award, a testament to his leadership and commitment to advancing the cause of doubling food production by 2050.
