T&G Global's Cecilia Flores Paez Discusses JAZZ™ Apple Popularity and Increased Demand
BRITISH COLUMBIA & NEW ZEALAND - Exciting and impactful varieties, fertile growing regions, and a heightening demand in the flavor-forward category are all factors influencing the success of many innovative programs today including that of JAZZ™ apples. As T&G Global’s Head of Marketing-North America, Cecilia Flores Paez, tells me, JAZZ apples have earned their fiercely loyal fan base due to their sophisticated taste profile that combines an amazing balance of sweet, tart, texture, crispness, and juice.
“JAZZ lovers will often only buy JAZZ,” Cecilia shares with me, adding that company has seen increased demand for its bag JAZZ programs and solid performance across all programs in packaged options. “While the North American market has traditionally favored large-sized apples, we have seen a position carved out for smaller sized, premium fruit over the years.”
More recently, T&G has been well-positioned to leverage the current pantry-packing phase, sparked by the lockdown and the resulting surge in shopping. JAZZ apples are available in a variety of bags to suit different customer needs, including 2-lb pouch bags and 3-lb and 5-lb poly bags.
Trends in bags of small-sized fruit have changed over the years and T&G is adding even more value now than ever before.
“We are able to bring more opportunities to our partners primarily due to the variety in bag formats that we offer as well as the range of sizes that suit the snacking needs of adults and children alike,” Cecilia expresses. “Simply put Jazz apples are a go-to for families stocking up on healthy snacks for their at-home kids.”
T&G will continue to have Washington JAZZ apples over the summer, mainly in small sizes, to support the imported JAZZ rom New Zealand. The company will also have large size New Zealand JAZZ shipping widely, starting late June through mid-October. Marketing giant Oppy will manage T&G’s full apple basket from now through early fall, in addition to other sales agents CMI Orchards and Rainier Fruit.
“We are expecting excellent quality with good volume,” Cecilia adds. “This is a great opportunity for our retail partners to offer the absolute best of the New Zealand crop, and complement our Washington crop, as JAZZ is available 365 days a year.”
To top all this off, JAZZ is also distinguished as being one of the few varieties that maintain its exceptional crunch year-round.
Take a bite out of that!
