Bland Farms Empire-Sweet Onion Harvest is Under Way

Bland Farms Empire-Sweet onions will soon reach grocery store shelves in the New York area and Northeastern U.S. region. The sweet onion grower is a proud member of the Pride of New York Program and is very excited to service customers with this year’s excellent crop.
Omar Cruz, Bland Farms’ Director of Farm Production, states, “I feel very good about the crop….The quality is there and that makes me very happy.” President and Owner, Delbert Bland, is excited about the quality of this year’s crop and states, “We are very proud to be involved with the Pride of New York program and hope that residents of the State of New York andt hose people purchasing our product in the Northeast will enjoy the high-quality sweet onions that their state and region is able to produce. There is a rich history to our farm and our Empire-Sweet’s are a product of that history.”
Bland Farms expects this year’s crop to compliment the state of New York’s interest in locally grown products as well as enrich the lives of the local community.
