Freshway Food's Food Safety Commitment
Freshway Foods, a produce processor, re-packer, distributor, and logistics provider is continuing with its commitment to food safety by implementing a new third party audit program. The company who is going beyond industry standards earned the HACCP Based Food Safety Plan's SQF 2000 accreditation . The SQF 2000, three tier certification system, is an appealing and widely recognized standard both with consumers and the industry. Freshway Foods commitment to food safety is both an internal source of responsibility to the company itself, but also an outward standard that they implement to accommodate their customers.
2011 has been the first year that Freshway Foods has participated in the certification program conducted by the SQF Institute, a division of the Food Marketing Institute. Frank Gilardi, co-founder and CEO of Freshway Foods states, "In July, our SQF Practitioner, Tim Redmon, rolled out the new program and led training for our entire operations team...I am very proud of our employees’ continued commitment to the quality and food safety standards our customers have come to depend on."
