Dole Food Company Engages Influencers in Latest Social Media Contest; Rachel Young Comments



CHARLOTTE, NC - Did someone say Dole Whip? As a full-fledged Disney adult, those two words instantly turn my head. I know many other consumers and trade members fawn over this unique offering, and Dole Food Company is giving them even more reason to do so. The supplier will be adding three established social media influencers to its ambassador team, kicking off the #DoleWhipLife 2024 Dole Creators of the Year Contest.

Of course, this being Dole, we also need to make sure that all new ambassadors can make a great Dole Whip.”

In addition to being active advocates of Dole’s mission, the three winning candidates must also create a memorable, original Dole Whip DIY recipe. According to a press release, the search is open only to established social media influencers with at least 10,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Facebook. Entrants must answer a series of screening questions and submit an original, nutritionally focused Dole Whip recipe that features DOLE® Pineapple and/or Bananas and a minimum amount of added sugar.

Participants are encouraged to incorporate any of Dole’s 12 other fresh fruits including plantains, dragon fruit, mangos, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, oranges, and avocados. Dole will also accept other recipe concepts, including floats, puddings, popsicles, overnight oats, and breakfast and lunch options.

The deadline to enter is January 15, 2024. Three winners will be revealed to the public as #DoleWhipLife 2024 Dole Creators of the Year by February 7. The content-development relationship with Young and her team will continue through December 31, 2024.

This creative social media strategy is just one example of how Dole continues its mission of providing fun and engaging content with the ultimate goal of increasing fresh produce consumption.
