Homegrown Organic Farms Debuts GROWN by Video Series; Scott Mabs and Elise Smith Detail

PORTERVILLE, CA - Who’s coming over for a watch party this Friday? I, for one, will be queuing up the newest video launch from Homegrown Organic Farms, which is set to go live at 6 p.m. PST on the grower’s YouTube channel. Titled GROWN by, the series follows the Peterson Family, Agustin Cardenas, France Ranch, and Pipco Fruit Company through their growing and harvest seasons. Following the series debut, viewers can look forward to weekly episode uploads each Friday.

Scott Mabs, Chief Executive Officer, Homegrown Organic Farms“There is nothing quite like the GROWN by series out there,” Scott Mabs, Chief Executive Officer, comments. “To hear from growers in real-time and experience things as they are farming day-to-day. Our hope with this series is for customers and consumers alike to connect with and better understand not only where their fruit comes from, but the people that cultivate it.”

Vern and Erik Peterson grow treefruit including peaches, plums, nectarines, and persimmons for Homegrown. They carry on the 100-year family tradition of dedication to soil health and farmworker fairness and were one of the first stonefruit farms to earn the Equitable Food Initiative (EFI) certification and become Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) at the Gold level.

On January 6, Homegrown Organic Farms will launch its GROWN by video series on YouTube

Agustin Cardenas’ passion for growing fruit for people led him to lease and later purchase land from his employer’s ranch when he moved from Mexico to the United States. His farm is EFI certified and will be working toward ROC certification for the 2023 stonefruit season.

John and Cindy France founded Homegrown Organic Farms back in 1998. They were also among the first growers in California to go organic when they certified their family farm, France Ranch, in 1989, a press release stated. Homegrown transitioned to an ESOP in 2021, but France Ranch continues to grow EFI-certified organic grapes and citrus.

The unique series follows the Peterson Family, Agustin Cardenas, France Ranch, and Pipco Fruit Company through their growing and harvest seasons

For more than 70 years the Paul family has farmed in California’s Central Valley as Pipco Fruit Company. John Paul is continuing the family farming legacy of growing organic stonefruit for Homegrown and is joined by his father, Stephen Paul, who is Category Director.

Elise Smith, Marketing Manager, Homegrown Organic Farms“We are excited to share our grower’s stories in a different way,” says Elise Smith, Marketing Manager. “This series gives viewers the chance to engage with our growers in a unique setting and each episode will feel like a visit to the farm.”
