Patrick Kelly Discusses Success of The Produce Industry Podcast; Announces New Segment
UNITED STATES - The Produce Industry Podcast is the brain child of Patrick Kelly, who we recently interviewed about the delivery service Flavor Wave Fresh. This new platform has hit great strides in the last year, expanding recently with another segment: Fresh From the Fields Fridays.
I spoke with Patrick in regards to what both this new segment means, and how the platform has become a source of marketing, insights, and more for the industry.
“The main point of this platform is that the industry benefits,” Patrick noted with emphasis. “It’s been a new way to communicate and build community while commerce is taking place, and ultimately benefit those within this sector that are already making it happen. It helps these companies get into the minds of consumers, retailers, and the community. It’s become like an omnichannel marketing service for the produce industry.”
The Fresh From the Fields Fridays is a segment that promotes the regular consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, and is co-hosted by Dan “The Produce Man” Avakian. It debuted August 6 of this year, and was sponsored by Equifruit and Buck Naked Onions of Owyhee Produce.
“This is a good collaboration,” Dan, who is a 45-year veteran of the industry, stated. “We will feature information on what’s happening around the country, guests, features, and other really fun ideas that we’re tossing around. Patrick is very enthused and is dedicated to service in the produce industry. His honesty, integrity, and passion is evident in his media presence and that’s what appealed to me. He has a great personality, sense of humor and is fun to work with. I’m excited to be working with him.”
Avakian has his own Youtube channel titled Dan The Produce Man™, and alongside his vast career in fresh produce, he has worked extensively in radio, television, and the web.
Since its launch, The Produce Industry Podcast has gained popularity in its year and a half run. You can catch it on apps such as Apple, Spotify, Anchor, and YouTube.
“I expected to have listeners and interaction with our industry, but I didn’t expect the overwhelming response, listenership, support, and growth to be this enormous so fast,” Patrick remarked.
