In preparation, the purveyor has revealed 10 original recipes as part of its “Healthier by Dole” series, all of which include the iconic DOLE Pineapple.

Melanie Marcus, RD, MA, Nutrition and Health Communications Manager, Dole Food Company“For years, we’ve been encouraging families to enjoy the sweet flavor and natural, immunity-supporting benefits of fresh pineapples,” said Melanie Marcus, RD, MA, and Dole’s Nutrition and Health Communications Manager. “With grilling season upon us, these 10 pineapple-based BBQ recipes are the perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day, National Pineapple Day, and the start of summer grilling and smoking season all at once.”

With Father’s Day falling on June 19 and National Pineapple Day on June 27, Dole is celebrating both with healthier menu offerings that feature DOLE Pineapple, the fruit that played a vital role in the company’s founding in Hawaii over 170 years ago, according to a release.

Dole Food Company is hitting holiday home runners as it celebrates Father’s Day and National Pineapple Day with ten original recipes as part of its “Healthier by Dole” series, such as the Dole’s BBQ Chicken Stuffed Smoked Pineapple with Spicy Quick Pickled Cabbage

“Healthier by Dole” is a monthly series of recipes and menu substitutes for popular dishes. Led by Marcus, the program features easy-to-make recipes high in fruits and vegetables, flavorful, and perfect for holidays and other eating occasions. They also serve as inspiration for potential produce aisle displays and in-store merchandising opportunities.

June’s recipes include dishes like Dole’s BBQ Chicken Stuffed Smoked Pineapple with Spicy Quick Pickled Cabbage; Guardians Grilled Chicken, inspired by Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy; the vegetarian and gluten-free Brussels Sprouts and Grilled Pineapple Salad; and the tropical Shrimp and Pineapple Thingamabobs, celebrating Disney’s Ariel.

In addition to its recipes, Dole is also holding its “Celebrate Super Heroes Contest” for a chance to win up to $3,000 as part of the “Healthy Heroes, Assemble!” initiative inspired by the Marvel Universe. Dole will also be celebrating National Pineapple Day with five days of pineapple-themed activities on its website and social media pages from June 7 through July 1—another opportunity for retailers to bring attention to the produce department.

Bring some celebration to your aisles with updates from ANUK.
