Stew Leonard's gets physical
Stew Leonard's has announced it will begin offering employees at its Danbury, Conn., store annual physical examinations as part of an ongoing effort to emphasize preventative health care. The Conneticut-based retailer, who achieved the Guinness World Record in 1992 for having the greatest sales per unit area of any single US food store, is determined to make life easier and healthier for its employees. Communications Vice President Jill Tavello stated that "we found that a lack of time and not having a trusted local doctor kept many of our employees from getting yearly physicals."
