CHICAGO, IL - Some new fruit-forward items are joining the McDonald’s menu in Australia. It was recently announced that the foodservice behemoth is introducing Pineapple Fritters and Pineapple Sundaes for the first time in this bustling market.

"We are excited to be bringing you a new and exciting take on the ultimate snack item this year with the introduction of Pineapple Fritters," Marketing Director Samantha McLeod said, according to a report from Yahoo! News.

Last year, the chain launched Potato Scallops in Australia, which were met with rave reviews from consumers. The success of this produce-forward innovation made way for more fresh offerings on the menu, such as the Pineapple Fritters and Pineapple Sundaes.

According to the news source, the hot and cold menu items will be officially released this summer as part of a larger menu expansion. We are left to wonder whether these foodservice items will be making their way Stateside in the following months.
