Southeast Produce Council Announces Second Annual Fresh Chefs Scholarship Recipients; Stanley Trout Details



MILLEN, GA - This just in! Southeast Produce Council (SEPC) has announced the recipients of its second annual SEPC Fresh Chefs scholarship program. In doing so, the organization has selected three students to receive a $1,500 scholarship toward their educational goals for the upcoming year, as well as a trip to this year’s Southern Innovations conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 14–16.

We are thrilled by the increase in the quantity of applicants for this scholarship opportunity,” said Stanley Trout, SEPC Board Member and Foodservice Committee Chairman, Idaho Potato Commission. “The quality of these applicants is truly something to celebrate, as well, and we are excited to be able to provide this opportunity for them, including their invitation to join us at Southern Innovations where we’ll introduce them to key innovators within the produce industry.”

The recipients of the year’s scholarship program include:

  • Tyler Custodio

According to a press release, SEPC will also cover hotel and travel expenses to the event, in addition to providing an SEPC Fresh Chefs jacket for each recipient. During this year’s Southern Innovations, scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to network with hundreds of produce industry grower-shipper members, as well as the nation’s leading retailers and foodservice distributors.

The annual program is open to any full-time college or secondary education student pursuing a degree in culinary arts or restaurant management. For more information, click here.
