Walmart Teams Up with New Grocery Delivery Service Providers



BENTONVILLE, AR - While the world continues to obsess over Amazon, Walmart has quickly and efficiently assembled a counterattack to position itself as the leading competitor in the realm of online grocery delivery. This week, Walmart announced it has enlisted four delivery companies, including Point Pickup, Skipcart, AxleHire, and Roadie, to join its delivery team and expand its online grocery operations.

As they are busy managing jobs, soccer practice, dance lessons and social schedules, we are on a mission to do more than keep a little extra money in their pockets,” said Walmart U.S.’s Senior Vice President of Digital Operations Tom Ward. “With the help of these new delivery partners, we’re making grocery shopping even easier by bringing the everyday low prices of Walmart right to the front door of customers.”

Walmart’s four new partnerships will help power the retailer’s online grocery delivery operations in metro areas across four states, with further expansion planned in the coming weeks. This brings the tally of stores offering Walmart’s grocery delivery services up to 800, with the retail giant planning to add another 800 stores to that count this year, according to a press release.
