Duda New Elements to Summer Import Program, NatureFresh Farms Specialty Green Tomato Packaging

Duda Farm Fresh Foods is gearing up for its 2014 summer import program that will consist of Dandy branded Satsuma and Clementine/Mandarins, Minneola Tangelos, Navel oranges and Meyer Lemons. Citrus fruit will be coming in from Peru, Chile, Uruguay, New Zealand and South Africa. New for this 2014 season, Duda will offer loading out of the company’s Ft. Meade, Florida, packing facility- Peace River packing. Paul Huckabay, Sales Manager, tells AndNowUKnow, “This will provide our customers all throughout the Southeast a convenient loading solution all summer long. We will continue offering our regular programs in both Pennsylvania on the east coast and California on the west coast of the US.”
Green tomatoes are making a comeback and NatureFresh Farms' 2014 greenhouse production schedule is bursting with Green Beefsteak tomatoes. Careful selection of fruit combined with special packaging ensures fruit arrives in full green color. In addition to the ever-popular fried green tomato dishes, this fruit is well suited for salsas, chutney and salads. Retailers and foodservice distributors are clamoring for this company's consistent quality and color. Tru-Green tomatoes will be available from NatureFresh starting in March. Ray Wowryk, Director of Business Development tells AndNowUKnow, “With so many old and new variations of preparations, green tomatoes are no longer overlooked by high end restaurants, giving foodies a new twist on an old favorite.”
