
Index Fresh Partners with California Avocado Commission to Increase Retail Sales
Index Fresh recently partnered with the California Avocado Commission to highlight the California Grown campaign. In an effort to increase awareness and visibility at the retail level, Index Fresh is rolling out its new PLU sticker, and is also utilizing a second sticker designed by CAC, which indicates the fruit's California origin.
“CAC has been highlighting the positive benefits of this California Grown program for sometime now,” says John Dmytriw, Director of Sales at Index Fresh. “It didn’t take much convincing, consumers want to know where the food comes from with one quick glance. We believe this newly designed PLU sticker addition is a win win for everyone.”
It’s a three prong approach, Dmytriw notes. First, consumers can easily identify California fruit on their grocers shelves. Second, retailers want to increase and drive sales at the store level. CAC has shown us through BETA testing, consumers will choose California Avocados over other countries of origin when they can easily identify their origins. Third, It’s everyone’s way of saying thank you to all of the terrific hardworking California Growers that grow this wonderful fruit.
