International Fresh Produce Association Launches Southern Hemisphere Commodity Working Group; Natalia Gamarra Shares



WASHINGTON, DC & NEWARK, DE - In an effort to establish global supply chain relationships and understanding, the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) revealed the launch of its new Southern Hemisphere Commodity Working Group series. Featuring interactive, virtual workshops for IFPA members, the series will highlight key markets in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and South Africa, focusing on everything from pre-season scenarios and current market trends to international challenges.

The first session in the series starts today, May 26, 2022, with the Avocado Working Group, the organization explained in a release. During the session, speakers will share season updates from across the Southern Hemisphere. They include Ligia Falange Carvalho, President of the Avocado Association of Brazil; Francisco Contardo, Executive Director Avocado Committee of Chile A.G; Jose Luis Gallardo Anguiano, President, APEAM, A.C.; Juan Carlos Paredes, President, Prohass Peru; and Derek Donkin, Chief Executive of the South African Subtropical Growers’ Association.

Participants in the session will have the opportunity to share their learnings when it comes to logistics, sustainability, market development, and branding.
