Sprouts Farmers Market Expands to More Markets
UNITED STATES - Sprouts Farmers Market is expanding its reach on both coasts after announcing new store locations in Washington, Florida, and Maryland. One reason for the organic grocer’s latest growth effort is to provide immediate fresh and healthy grocery options to the communities of Silverdale, Washington; Pasadena, Maryland; and Jacksonville and Estero, Florida.
“We’re in this together,” said Sprouts Chief Operations Officer Dan Sanders. “We’re eager to provide you and your families access to the healthy grocery essentials you need during these unprecedented times as quickly as we can.”
The Silverdale location—Sprouts’ third in Washington state—will open on April 8; the Pasadena store—its fourth in the state—will open on April 15; and the Jacksonville location—Sprouts’ second store in the city—will open on April 29. The Estero store will make its debut on June 3. Both Florida locations are 30,000 square feet and are growing the grocer’s team by 110 new team members each, with plans to hire Department Managers, Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks, and more.
According to a press release, Sprouts is closely following CDC and local health authority guidelines related to COVID-19, while regularly providing store team members with the latest safety guidance, including:
- Investing additional labor hours into stores to allow for more frequent cleaning
- Paying close attention to high-touch areas such as service counters, restrooms, carts, and checkout lanes
- Implementing steps to promote social distancing at registers, where plexiglass barriers are being installed to add protection for team members and customers
In addition, the new Silverdale location is anticipating receiving daily deliveries to stay well-stocked for shoppers, with certain items' availability pending on opening day in order to open as soon as possible for the community, as noted in a press release.
