Staci Burke of Oppy Earns 2023 Women in Supply Chain Award; Steve Roosdahl and Stewart Lapage Comment
NEWARK, DE - As an all-female writing staff here at AndNowUKnow, news of the achievements of the women in our industry strikes a special cord. That is why we were excited to hear that Oppy’s Staci Burke has been selected by Food Logistics as a recipient of its Women in Supply Chain award.
This honor spotlights female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship, and examples set a foundation for women across all levels of the company’s supply chain network, a release explained. Burke serves as Director of Port and Distribution Operations and was selected out of 400 submissions.
Oppy also recently recognized Burke’s influence when she was honored as its West Coast USA Employee of the Year in 2022. She has also held a leadership position for over a decade as one of its Champions of Change.
Each member is selected to be the key voice for their office or department, and the committee reviews the annual employee engagement survey to present key findings to the executive group, which is then integrated into that year’s strategy.
“Staci has not only made substantial impacts within our company, but in the global supply chain as well, particularly in the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftereffects,” Vice President of Operations Steve Roosdahl shared. “Given the diverse import and handling requirements of products from 28 different countries, Staci’s agile approach to problem-solving drove initiatives that have streamlined the flow of products from Oppy's hundreds of growers across the globe to the largest produce retailers, wholesalers, and foodservice companies in North America.”
Stewart Lapage, Burke’s Manager and Executive Director of Operations and Logistics, also commented.
“Hired as a seasonal Operations Assistant 16 years ago, Staci has made significant contributions through her profound knowledge of the supply chain and strategic partnerships, positioning Oppy as an industry leader,” he added. “It comes as no surprise that Staci was selected for this award, she is a key role model amongst the team, driving positive transformations and initiatives that have had a significant impact on the business and the people around her.”
Recipients will be honored at this year’s Women in Supply Chain Forum from November 14–15, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Congratulations to Staci Burke!
