ONTARIO, CANADA - When I first heard that Mucci Farms was expanding its distribution to the West Coast, this California native could not have been happier. Now, just six months later, Mucci Farms is in full production with the hallmarks of progress and excellence already detailing the greenhouse grower’s 2022 season.

As we launch into the warmer months here in the Northern Hemisphere, Steve Zaccardi, Senior Director of Sales, and Ken Paglione, Key Account Manager, joined me to share the latest and greatest details of the new program and why retailers should be planning out their programs now.

Ken Paglione, Key Account Manager, Mucci Farms“Timing is everything, and the beauty of controlled environment agriculture is that we are always in season. There is no time like the present to stock retail shelves in anticipation of Memorial Day weekend—which we consider to be the unofficial start of summer,” Ken shares with me. “We have a great team ready to assist in all facets from seed to table, including an in-house marketing team that can provide a wide range of supporting material to assist any promotional campaigns at retail.”

And, with premium products to build eye-catching displays, those campaigns are promising to do more than just deliver, but build trust and repeat customers at retail. Currently, Mucci Farms is in full production out of Southern California with tomatoes on-the-vine, seedless long English and mini cucumbers, and the company has been adding a variety of premium snacking tomatoes.

Steve Zaccardi, Senior Director of Sales, Mucci Farms“Quality, flavor, and volume are operating at optimal levels, and we are well-positioned to service the West Coast from our farms in California and distribution center in British Columbia, Canada,” Steve expresses, adding that the benefits of partnering with Mucci Farms are wide-ranging. “The advantages start with the experience and professionalism of our team. We have been in the business for a very long time and truly understand customer service and execution. This is above and beyond our consistent scale, supply, quality, and emphasis on growing the world's most flavorful varieties. Better yet, for our West Coast clients, we are officially local!”

When I ask Steve what advice he has for retailers on planning ahead and making the most out of the Mucci Farms partnership, he shares that the big picture is essential.

“At Mucci Farms, we have seen our greatest successes whenever we can truly partner with retailers and build out long-term game plans together,” he says. “Partnerships and advanced planning are the best ways to secure supply, as we can reserve acreage in our hi-tech greenhouse facilities. From there, our vertically integrated machine provides end-to-end service with ample support along every step of the supply chain.”

Bringing more premium products to retail displays, Mucci Farms is also in full production for its seedless long English and mini cucumbers

For an industry that thrives on relationships, Mucci Farms is proving that the product itself is a testament to those amazing relationships. And a West Coast expansion is more than a fruitful complement to the Mucci Farms vision.
