WP Rawl's Nature's Greens Recipe Contest
Nature’s Greens is announcing the results of its Show Us Your HERITAGE Recipe Contest, according to a press release.
Janice Elder submitted the winning recipe, with her Absolutely Amazing Appetizer Lattice Tart. The tart is not only pastry-shop beautiful, but it also tastefully displays the southern flavors of pork-spiked greens and is easy to make.
“Using refrigerated pie crusts make this dish quite simple, and the already prepped Nature’s Greens are easy to cook to the perfect tenderness,” said winner Janice Elder, “warning – this appetizer will not last long!”
There were over 75 unique recipes entered into the contest, and the winner will enjoy a trip for two to Charleston, South Carolina. To be eligible, recipe entries were required to include any of the Nature’s Greens cooking greens - kale, collards, turnips, and mustards.
Six finalists were selected by judges based several factors: recipes' visual appeal, creativity, and use of Nature's Greens. A public vote was then cast, the recipes were cooked and judged, and a final winner was announced.
“We were very pleased with the quality of entries,” assured Ashley Rawl director of sales, marketing and product development, “recipe contests are a great way for us to see how consumers enjoy their greens and incorporate them into their family heritage.”
